Vaghinak Galoyan
Vaghinak Galoyan was born on July 12, 1966, in Yerevan, Armenia.He is a professional cellist and double bass player too,with many years of international experience in orchestras, chamber ensembles, and teaching.
He began his musical education at the Mikhail Mirzoyan Music School in Yerevan, then continued his studies at the Romanos Melikian Musical College. After graduating, he entered the Komitas State Conservatory in Yerevan. From 1991 to 1993, he completed also postgraduate studies at the same State Conservatory.
Vaghinak Galoyan has had an extensive professional career as a cellist.From 1988 to 2002, he performed with the Armenian State Philharmonic Orchestra as the 2nd Principal Cellist. And also he got an invitation of coloboration with the Radio & TV State Simfony Orchestra of Armenia,where he served as the 1st Principal.He later worked with the Armenian State Chamber Orchestra.From 2003 to 2020, he lived and worked in Patras, Greece, where he served as the 2st Principal Cellist of the Hellas Orchestra of Patras. Between 2012 and 2019, he performed as part of the Zante Piano Duo. More recently, from 2020 to 2026, he performed with the Bryansk Symphony Orchestra.
In 1985, he became the winner of the National Music Contest of Armenia. Alongside his performing career, he has also been teaching cello since 1989. Over the years, he has participated in more than 100 CD recordings with orchestras and ensembles.
As a soloist and chamber musician, he has performed in various formations, including piano duets,trios,string quartets,quintets and baroque ensembles. His concert career has taken him around the world, with performances in the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Australia, France, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Russia, Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania, the United Arab Emirates, Iran, and many other countries.
